Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is an undaunted person, a leader who does not bow down to pressure and never compromises on principles.
“The PTI-led government is pursuing the policy to strengthen the country and nation, not the government.”
Governor Ch Sarwar was talking to different delegations of PTI at Governor’s House here on Friday.
The governor said the Prime Minister Imran Khan will succeed in his mission for making Pakistan a Madina-like state.
He said that the government has adopted a holistic approach for development and all the sectors will be strengthened as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He said that the government is committed and making strenuous efforts to provide all basic facilities including health and education to people at their threshold.
Ch Sarwar said that the opposition will not be able to defeat the government at any forum, adding that the government will lead the country towards development.
Ch Sarwar said that the opposition, having failed in all conspiracies against the government, has come to know that the elections will be held in 2023.
He said that the opposition should abandon the egocentric politics and stubbornness, adding that opposition should hold dialogue with the government on the issue of electoral reforms to ensure transparent elections in the country, adding that the government wants to bring such a transparency in the elections that even those who lose the elections accept the election results instead of pointing fingers at the electoral process.
He said that this will also strengthen the democracy and parliament in Pakistan, adding that the government’s decision to introduce electoral reforms aims to get rid of rigging forever.
Governor Punjab said that when Prime Minister Imran Khan came to power, the economic crisis of the country was visible to all but the PTI led government gave economic stability to Pakistan through its successful economic policies, adding that now the investors from all over the world are investing in various sectors of Pakistan which is manifestation of confidence in the successful economic policies of the government.
Meanwhile, Governor Ch Sarwar announced to revoke all the amendments regarding journalists from the recently passed Punjab Privileges (Amendment) Act, 2021.
He expressed these views while talking to the journalists here on Friday and announced to accept all the demands of journalists.
While talking to media, the governor said that Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Pervaiz Elahi are also on the same page to revoke these articles.
Our govt will not censor the journalistic reporting and their opinion. Prime Minister Imran Khan and the PTI govt strongly believes in the freedom of press.
Journalists will find me standing with them every time when they come here for rightful demands, he added.
