An eighteen year old woman identified as Ms Shama, mother of one baby girl, was strangled to death by her husband named Waheed Jatoi at village Dirghpur, riverine area of Khanpur tehsil of Shikarpur district, over pretext of Karo-Karo [Honour Killing], in the vicinity of Kot-Shahoo Police Station, some 80 kilometers off from here, on Thursday.
Abdul Jabbar Solangi, an official of concerned police station, confirmed the incident and said that it believed suspect killed his wife on having suspicion of illicit relations with her community man; however, area police moved the body to nearby hospital and handed over to her relatives after completing necessary medical legal formalities.
It is pertinent to mention here that three women and one male have lost their precious lives in running week of October on the name of so-called honour killing at Kot-Shahoo and Naparkot Police Station of Khanpur tehsil of Shikarpur.
The people of Shikarpur asked for high ups including Inspector General of Police, the Additional Inspector General of Police Sukkur, Dr Jameel Ahmed, the Deputy Inspector General of Larkana Irfan Baloch and SSP Shikarpur Dr Muhammad Rizwan Ahmed Khan to take notice of increasing incidents of honour killing to curb such sort of so-called traditional practice of honour killing for the welfare of the women of Sindh mainly Northern Sindh.
Neither an FIR was registered nor police have arrested suspect killer Waheed Jatoi till filling of this news story.
