Human Development Foundation in collaboration with Environment Department Balochistan and Balochistan Rural Support Programme organized a walk and seminar to mark the World Environment Day here.
The walk led by Team Leader HDF Naeem Gul Mandokhail started from Government Model High School and culminated at the Culture Hall, that was attended by students, socially-conscious citizens, members of civil society and people from different walks of life.
The participants of the walk were holding banners inscribed with environment-friendly slogans.
Judicial Magistrate Bashir Bazai, Assistant Director Environment department Sheikh Khaliq Dad Mandokhail, DHO Dr. Naseer Babar, Deputy Director Livestock and Dairy Development Dr. Naseebullah Kakar, Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension) Muhammad Anwer Dotani, General Manager National Commission for Human Development Razzaq Kakar, Representative of WHO Dr. Sheikh Zarak Mandokhail, DPM BRSP Abdul Jabbar, social activists Sheikh Ashraf Mandokhail, Sajid Imran Bangash, Syed Afzal Shah and others in a large number attended the seminar
Addressing the participants the speakers said that climate change was the greatest environmental threat and challenge being faced by the humanity.
An individual by taking easy step like planting a sapling can bring a major change in the environment.
“Global warming and pollution are the key challenges but solution to these problems lies in tree plantation to sustain human life.
The trees are the prime source of environmental purification and beautification,” they said.
