KP to reopen educational institutions from 24th

The Punjab government has extended the lockdown till June 15 to curb the spread of Coronavirus across the province, including Lahore.
Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Punjab also issued a notification to extend the lockdown, according to which the business hours of the markets will be till 8 pm, all business activities will be completely banned on Saturday and Sunday, medical services, pharmacies, centers.
Health, Vaccination Centers, Petrol Pumps, Ovens, Dairy Shops, Food Delivery & E-Commerce Services, Courier & Postal Services, Electricity, Gas, Internet, Cellular & Telecom Companies, Call Centers & Media Houses, Auto Workshops, Oil Depots Markets will be allowed to keep open round the clock. Outdoor dining will be allowed in restaurants from May 24, but the ban will be lifted.
According to the notification, outdoor weddings with a capacity of 150 people will be allowed from June 1, however, indoor wedding ceremonies and marquees will be banned across Punjab, all amusement parks across Punjab will remain completely closed, jogging tracks will remain open. While all the shrines will be completely closed for devotees.
Offices in the province will be allowed to work with 50% staff, transport will be allowed to run with 50% capacity, inter-provincial transport will be completely closed on Saturdays and Sundays and train service will continue with 70% passengers. The ban on wearing masks will remain in place.
It is to be noted that the third wave of corona virus has engulfed Pakistan, 102 more people died from coronavirus in the country on Friday after which the number of deaths due to the virus exceeded 20,000 and the total number of corona cases is 893,461.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Friday announced staggered reopening all educational institutions in some districts beginning May 24, notifications from the higher and secondary educational departments said.
The educational institutions are reopening in districts where the coronavirus positivity ratio remains below 5% — a decision made in line with the National Command and Operations Centre’s announcement.
Public and private universities and colleges in districts Battagram, Buner, Chitral Lower, Chitral Upper, DI Khan, Hangu, Khyber, Kohistan Upper, Kohiatan Lower, Kolet Palas, Karak, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Mohmand, Malakand, Orakzal, Swat, North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Tank, and Tor Ghar will open from May 24.
However, in the rest of the districts, educational institutions will remain closed till June 7, and the educational activities will continue online, the notification said.
Moreover, the schools in Battagram, Kurram, Buner, Lakki Marwat, Chitral Lower, Mohmand, Chitral Upper, Malakand, DLKhan, Orakzai, Hangu, Swat, Khyber, N Waziristan, Kohistan Upper, S Waziristan, Kohistan Lower, Tank, Kolai Pallas, Tor Ghar, Karak will reopen from May 24, while in the rest of the districts, the mode of education will remain online.
