Sharp decline in Covid cases as 267 reported

As many as 1 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 4,794 and 997 new cases emerged when 10,730 tests were conducted.

This was stated by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Saturday.

He added that 1 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 4,794 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.

 

Mr. Shah said that 10,730 samples were tested which detected 997 cases that constituted 9.3 percent current detection rate.

He added that so far 3,840,971 tests have been conducted against which 298,061 cases were diagnosed, of them 92.5 percent or 275,589 patients have recovered, including 2386 overnight.

The CM said that currently 17,678 patients were under treatment, of them 16,940 were in home isolation and 738 at different hospitals.

He added that the condition of 691 patients was stated to be critical, including 57 shifted to ventilators.

 

According to the statement, out of 997 new cases, 267 have been detected from Karachi, including 108 from East, 58 Central, 53 Korangi, 31 South, 11 West and 6 Malir.Dadu has 185, Jamshoro 152, Shaheed Benazirabad 64, Hyderabad and Sujawal 42 each, Badin and Shikarpur 39 each, Thatta 31, Umerkot 27, Nausheroferoze 17, Kashmore, Tando Muhammad Khan and TandoAllahyar 15 each, Matiari 12, Kamber 9, Sukkur 8, Mirpurkhas 7, Larkana 5, Khairpur 2 and Ghotki 1.

 

Murad Ali Shah urged people to abide by the SOPs issued by the government.
