Says lockdown during Eid holidays aims at protecting public health, lives

Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Shehbaz Sharif is now irritated by the heat of Pakistan and his heart is longing for cold palaces in London.
“The PTI government has always respected decisions of the court and the government would take action only on the decision of the courts regarding the permission regarding Shehbaz Sharif to go abroad.”
Talking to the media on Friday, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Saudi Arabia would result in good news for the people regarding Pak-Saudi relations.
She said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would go to the Holy Land like a true lover of the Prophet (SAWW).
She said the government is not competing with any political party at present but in competition with the inflation and will soon become successful in all her efforts to fight inflation.
She said the biggest obstacle in the government’s efforts against inflation is illicit profiteering and hoarding.
She said the relief policy of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar will break the back of inflation as the administration and the government are working together as two wheels of the vehicle to provide relief to the people.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said that during her visit to Ramazan Bazaar in Sialkot, she got angry on the sale of substandard food items and if there is any improvement in Ramazan Bazaars across the province, she will accept it as a success.
She said that proper sitting arrangements have been made for the people at the sugar stalls so that the people do not have to line up to get sugar on subsidy and the people can get cheap sugar in a dignified manner.
She said the government is always trying to provide relief to the people and now the sectors of poultry, cooking oil and ghee will be regulated the way sugar sector got regulated so that the people may get relief and illegal profiteering can be eradicated.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said the purpose behind lockdown during Eid holidays is to protect the health and lives of the people.
She said the rate of corona outbreak in Lahore has increased to 23% and the government’s decision to lockdown will break the cycle of corona and lockdown during Eid will bring good news for the nation.
She said that Eidul Fitr parties of politicians in Punjab will be banned and all the politicians should set an example in this regard and people should also wish and celebrate Eid on either phone or video call instead of inviting people to their homes.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said that all Ramazan bazaars will be converted into Eid bazaars and will remain open even during lockdown and the government will extend the timings of Eid bazaars for the convenience of the people.
