UHE hosts Webinar on ‘Virtues of Reading’

The University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore hosted a Webinar on: “Virtues of Reading” here on Friday, in connection with International Book Day.

Distinguished speakers included UHE VC Prof-Dr Kanwal Ameen, learned academician and celebrated poet Mr Amjad Islam Amjad, Prof-Dr Khalid Mahmood, Dean Faculty of Economics PU, Dr. Atifa Usmani, Head of Art & Design Department UHE.

The speakers highlighted the importance and role of the culture of book reading in social and economic development of the country.

It was agreed upon that in order to bridge gender gaps, class differences and to overcome social and economic barriers, books play a vital role.

Keynote speakers answered the questions on poetry and poetic expression along with the modern undercurrents in the contemporary literary tradition.
