Pakistan Disabled Foundation (PDF) on Tuesday demanded of the government to establish an authority at federal level for addressing issues relating to disable persons.
Addressing a news conference the PDF chief also demanded that the NADRA should identify the disability of a person like Blind, Deaf etc in their CNIC.
Currently, he said the NADR issued card with only written as “Disable” but could not mentioned the exact disability.
They also demanded names of people with disability and widows in new housing schemes so that these neglected people may benefits from government initiatives.
PDF chief also demanded to include disable persons particularly blind in different schemes offered by Pakistan Baitul Mal so that these neglected section of the society may benefitted from it.
With the advent of holy month of Ramadan, the PDF arranged distribution of food ration along with some cloth to the blind people across the country.
During, press conference the PDF also distributed Ramadan package among the blind people.
The regular arrangement of ration worth Rs3000/- per packet for 80 deserving families monthly in Karachi other than occasional arrangement of ration for remaining part of the country.
The PDF also supported for wedding ceremonies of 15 disabled.
