A man hanged self to death after killing his wife and two children “reportedly” over poverty on Friday.
According to police, the gruesome incident occurred in Hasilpur area of Jhang where Nadeem first strangulated his wife and two children to death and then committed suicide by hanging self from a ceiling fan.
The police said that it emerged that the deceased man was in debt of Rs90,000 and a note was also found near his body.
“I love my wife and children and had failed to fulfill their needs. I am taking away all of them with me,” the letter read.
The sources said that Nadeem was jobless and unable to fulfill needs of his family.
“He was unable to pay the rent and electricity dues and was forced to commit suicide after being continuously demanded to pay the amount,” they said.
The police said that they had shifted the bodies to a hospital for medico-legal formalities and would investigate the matter from all angles to get clarity on it.
