Pakistani rupee continued to perform strongly against the US dollar and in early trading, on Wednesday the greenback fell below Rs152 level for the first time in 22 months.
The dollar lost another 54 paisas against the rupee to Rs152.55 from Rs153.09. Economic expert Asad Rizvi said the approval of the IMF tranche for Pakistan has helped reduce the pressure on the rupee.
Another factor, Asad Rizvi said, was the sale of Euro bonds from which Pakistan has received $2.5 billion and there was also an upsurge in the remittances.
