Moro irrigation project inaugurated

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Pakistan Boys Scouts Association to promote healthy activities, training of scouts and promotion of activities and tourism opportunities in this regard.
Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Sarfraz Qamar Daha, Chief Commissioner of Pakistan Boy Scouts signed on behalf of their respective institutions.
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Tourism Directorate will contact Pakistan Boys Association for technical and training information in this regard.
Salman Qureshi, Additional Director Tourism Directorate, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and National Commission for Community Scouting Akhtar Javed has been nominated as focal person.
Director IUB Tourism Directorate Dr. Imran Rashid, Dr. Javed Iqbal and Kulsoom Akhtar were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, has inaugurated the Micro Irrigation Project of the Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture.
This method irrigates the fields, greenery and plains using less water than irrigation.
Currently, this method of irrigation is being used in the main highway of Baghdad Al-Jadeed Campus, Vice Chancellor’s Office and Faculty of Agriculture.
With the completion of this project, all greenery, agricultural farms and other places will be irrigated while saving water in Baghdad al-Jadeed.
This will save a lot of water. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor also distributed certificates among the faculty members and students working on the project.
