Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar paid a surprise visit to Dharabi Lake in Chakwal on Thursday while coming to Lahore from Islamabad on a helicopter. He inspected the activities being done to promote tourism in the area. He said, on the occasion, that Dharabi Lake will be developed as a tourist-spot adding that rest-house will be constructed along with link roads. I have laid the foundation stone of project meant for developing a resort in Dharabi Lake along with the construction of link roads and an amount of Rs.8 crore has been allocated for this project, he added.
Hatchery industry will also be promoted along with the start of water sports activities in this lake. He hoped that this initiative would promote tourism along with earning opportunities. Promotion of tourism-related activities will boost economic opportunities and area will be developed due to the improvement of road networks, he added. Chief Minister Usman Buzdar also took an aerial view of Dadhocha Dam near Rawat. This dam project has been started to fulfil the future drinking water needs of Rawalpindi and its adjoining areas. Project Director of Dharabi Dam briefed the Chief Minister about the project.
The chief minister directed the irrigation department officials to ensure its timely completion for the provision of clean drinking water to the residents of Rawalpindi. CM thanks Sri Lankan cricket team: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has thanked the Sri Lankan cricket team and its management for playing ODI and T20 series in Pakistan. The cricket lovers fully supported both the teams and revival of international cricket in Pakistan is praiseworthy. The revival of cricket has given a positive message to the world and everyone is jubilant over the successful holding of the series, he said.
He expressed the satisfaction that discipline and passion of the spectators were amazing adding that peace has been fully restored in Pakistan. He hoped that other foreign cricket teams will also visit Pakistan. The chief minister also congratulated police, administration and other line departments for making foolproof security arrangements and added that cabinet committee on law and order also performed well.
Strike or protest is against doctors profession: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that strike or protest is against the noble profession of the medical community as service to ailing humanity gives a unique status and importance to the doctors. If doctors are on strike then who will attend the patients coming for their medical treatment, he asked. There is no justification of going to strike for accepting their demands and doctors should perform their official duties instead of going to strike. He maintained that issues can be settled with mutual understanding.
