The University of Sargodha (SU) on Thursday resolved the matter of issuance of degrees to the students of University of Mianwali (UMW) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UMW pertaining to resolve its all pending academic and financial matters.
The agreement was inked by the Vice Chancellor Sargodha University Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad and the Vice Chancellor University of Mianwali Dr Islam Ullah Khan while senior administration teams from both sides also graced the occasion.
The agreement was aimed at taking into account the betterment of the students and to help the newly established university for clearance of pending liabilities of the UMW and the issuance of degree to the students of Ex-Sub-Campus Mianwali.
The MoU was made in the light of decision taken by the SU Syndicate in its 1/21 meeting held on February 16, 2021.
The MoU signing ceremony was held in the Committee room of Sargodha University with compliance of all the anti-Covid Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
According to the MoU, the University of Sargodha on the part of the UMW, will issue transcripts and degrees on receipt of result data of the prescribed applicable fees and dues including registration fee, examination fee 60%, transcript and degree fee etc.
SU will also provide funds to UMW to clear its already claimed pending liabilities from the additional amount of Rs25 million by the SU’s Syndicate under subsection 21(2) of the Sargodha University Ordinance, 2002.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad assured every possible help and cooperation to the UMW to make new mark and to turn into viable institution.
At the end, Dr Islam Ullah Khan thanked the SU administration for their continuous support and cooperation to resolve two crucial issues in only 30 days.
