The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has announced the election schedule for LA-3 Mirpur on Wednesday. The seat had been vacated due to disqualification of Minister for Sports, youth and Culture Chaudhary Muhammad Saeed. According to a notification of AJK Election Commission issued today, the election to the vacant seat would be held on November 24.
Nomination papers could be submitted by 21st of this month until 5 p.m while the list of eligible candidates after scrutiny of their papers would be issued on October 22. The candidates could submit their appeals in this connection to member Election Commission by Oct 26 while hearing on these appeals would be held on Oct 28.
Oct 29 has been fixed as last date for decision on appeals. According to notification the candidates could withdraw their papers by Oct 30 following which the list of final candidates would be issued. On next day (Oct. 31) the candidates would be allotted election symbols. Polling to LA-3 Mirpur-3 would be held on November 24 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
