NCOC imposes COVID-19 restrictions

Given the worsening coronavirus situation around the region, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) agreed to strengthen the restrictions on Monday.

Asad Umar, the Federal Minister of Preparation, Growth, and Special Initiatives said on Twitter:

Today, the forum convened early in the morning to settle about the next steps. Pakistan is now grappling with the third wave of coronavirus, which health officials say is more deadly and harmful.

The estimated number of COVID-19 cases in the world had risen to 630,471 as of March 22, with 3,669 new infections.

In the last 24 hours, 43,498 tests were conducted around the world, with 20 people succumbing to the disease.

So far, 583,538 people in the world have healed from the outbreak.

Today, the positivity level is 8.43 percent.

Meanwhile, Asad Umar, the Federal Minister for Planning, Growth, and Special Initiatives, has debunked reports that the country is on the verge of a “complete lockdown.”
