Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that PTI government soon after coming to power has started indiscriminate accountability process and on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan launched a crackdown on qabza mafia.

“All the state institutions exhibited bravery and courage to break the backbone of qabza mafias,” CM Usman Buzdar said while addressing a press conference at CM office here on Tuesday.

The CM said that former government set up illegal housing societies, petrol pumps, cinemas houses, commercial plazas, wagon stands by occupying the state land.

They were involved in tax evasion, theft of conversion fee and other taxes as well. They left no stone unturned to weaken the national institutions.

The national exchequer suffered loss of billions of rupees during the previous governments as the politicians joined hands with the corrupt elements in the institutions.

The chief minister said that PTI soon after holding public office free the institutions of political interference besides empowered them.

These institutions got vacated state land including urban and rural worth more than 5 billion rupees from the illegal occupation of qabza mafia.

The incumbent government is implementing a zero-tolerance policy against qazba mafia and encroachments. So far 144,439 acre land worth Rs425 billion got vacated from the qabza mafia.

He said that there is no such precedence of getting this much of land got vacated from the land grabbers in the past.

He said that operation against illegal encroachments and qabza mafia is the need of the hour and this operation is being conducted without any discrimination and will remain continue in future as well.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that setting up of Punjab Sahulat Bazaar Authority will ensure the availability of essential commodities at fixed rates.

The Punjab government has announced historic package worth seven billion rupees for providing relief to the people of the province during the holy month of Ramzan.

Under Ramzan package bag of 10-kg flour will be made available to the people in Ramzan bazaar at a rate of Rs300 which is 120 less than the market rate.

The Punjab government will give subsidy of 3.5 billion rupees for providing flour on affordable rates.

Meanwhile, CM Usman Buzdar visited Corona Vaccination Centre set up at Expo Centre Lahore and observed the process of giving vaccination to elderly citizens.

He also reviewed the facilities being provided to the senior citizens who came for vaccination.

He also talked to the health workers who were administered the vaccine at the Expo Centre and lauded their services.

Usman Buzdar also inquired after the aged citizens and asked them about the facilities available for them at the Expo Centre.

Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid, Secretary Primary & Secondary Health, Commissioner Lahore Division and other concerned authorities were also present on the occasion.

Later, the CM visited the Children Hospital and inaugurated the newly constructed emergency block established with the cooperation of Bahria Town International Hospitals.

Usman Buzdar reviewed the facilities being provided in new emergency ward and also inspected the newly constructed state-of-the-art operation theatre. The chief minister also visited ICU wards and inquired after the patients.
