Four deaths were also reported during this period.

After these fresh figures the tally of cases in Islamabad has surged to 46,963 and deaths 520 since the outbreak of Covid-19 last year.

All the big cities particularly those in Punjab are in the grip of this new wave, further said Dr Faisal.

“We have seen extraordinary positivity in the past, more than 10%, we, as part of communication strategy, convey positivity for your information. Please dont panic and just follow SoP’s.

We’ve responded well in past n we will respond well this time too.Bear with us,” he urged the people.

Interestingly the number of recoveries from Covid-19 is also going up and 223 patients were recovered from virus in last twenty-four hours. With 223 single day recoveries Islamabad’s total recoveries stand at 43,658.

He interacted with senior citizens who were there for immunization and briefly spoke to them about the benefits vaccination.
