Usman Khan Usman has highlighted the issues of human life in his poetry. These views were expressed by Syed Fakhr Imam, Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research while addressing as Chief Guest the launching ceremony of the book titled “Sheesha-e-Dil” by Usman Khan Usman.
Kohsar Adbi Forum in collaboration with Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) had organized the book launch.
The launching ceremony was presided over by Prof. Maqsood Jaffery while Dr. Nisar Turabi and Shazia Akbar were the guests of honor.
The ceremony was moderated by Gul Nasreen. Federal Minister Syed Fakhra Imam said that the part of Usman Khan’s poetry which deals with personalities was the most important and he enjoyed reading how Usman gave a poetic tribute to the great personality of Quaid-e-Azam.
He said in the book the poet has given many references to the constitution as well. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, Chairman, PAL, said in this collection of poems, Usman had presented the history of the country beautifully through his observations.
He also mentioned the leading leaders of the Muslim Ummah and paid homage to literary personalities. He said that Usman had inspired the new generation to struggle in life through poetry.
Prof. Maqsood Jafari also praised his work saying his poetry collection “Sheesha-e-Dil” was important in that it gives a clear picture of human affairs.
His poetry has many colors which different shades of truth. In his poetry, the colors of devotion are prominent in Salam, Manqabat, Hamd and Naat.
Dr. Nisar Turabi said that pain makes poetry and life. Usman was one of those people who felt the pain for human beings.
In “Sheesha-e-Dil”, an expression of boundless love is shown to the people of allegiance.
Shazia Akbar said the element of thematic diversity is prominent in the poetry of Usman. He was able to think and express himself from every angle of human life.
Farkhunda Shamim said Usman Khan Usman had given a new color and harmony to Rasai literature.
Kashif Irfan said that Usman was closer to the classical tradition but the modern color is also prominent in his poetry.
Jameel Yousuf said Usman had beautifully incorporated daily human affairs in his poetry.
Jabbar Mirza said Usman was a man who valued time. People who save time are the Sheesha-e-Dil.
