Two lawmakers of the Punjab Assembly – one from the ruling PTI and the other from the opposition PML-N, were diagnosed as having been suffered from novel coronavirus on Monday.
According to halth sources, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Mian Shafi Muhammad contracted novel coronavirus.
Mian Shafi has also been among the panel of chairmen in the present session of the house. He has quarantined himself after tested positive for the coronavirus.
On the other hand, PML-N MPA Samiullah Khan has quarantined himself after being tested positive for novel coronavirus. Samiullah Khan underwent Covid-19 test after having symptoms of the virus.
Earlier, several legislators of the Punjab Assembly had contracted novel coronavirus. PML-N MPA Malik Nadeem Kamran had also quarantined in his home after tested positive for the Covid-19.
In January a PML-N member of Punjab Assembly, Munira Yamin Satti, died of novel coronavirus after her health worsened.
Satti was put on a ventilator after she was declared critical after contracting novel coronavirus.
In December last year, PML-N Senator Kalsoom Parveen had also lost her life while battling against the novel coronavirus.
