The Ambassador of Pakistan H.E. Zahoor Ahned called upon the Speaker of Swedish Parliament Honorable Mr Andreas Norlén.
The focus of the meeting was enhancing inter parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador Zahoor Ahmed congratulated the Speaker on the 100th anniversary of the Swedish Parliament and women’s suffrage.
The Ambassador admired the Swedish Parliament’s historic role as a symbol of democracy, human rights and gender equality.
He l briefed the Speaker on the working of the Pakistani parliament and the representation of women in the parliament.
The Speaker was happy to note the presence of Pakistan-Sweden friendship groups in both parliaments and expressed interest in enhancing parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
The speaker appreciated Pakistan’s success against terrorism and extremism and expressed interest in promoting Pakistan Swedish economic relations.
The Ambassador briefed Speaker Norlin on the trajectory of Pakistan’s economy and its investment potential for Swedish companies. The Ambassador invited the speaker to pay a visit to Pakistan.—PR
