Ayesha Tariq was named as winner in Song category and Rachel in the Ghazal at the Singing Competition organized by Al-Hamra, Lahore Art Council here.
In Song category, Sadia Sultan grabbed second position and Pakiza Lal third while in Ghazal category, Ehsan Ashraf stood second with Nafees Ahmed secured third position.
Al-Hamra organized the Singing Competition in which young artistes from across the country participated.
Al-Hamra provided a quality environment to the young artistes participating in the competition to exhibit their talent. Renowned singers – Hamid Ali Khan, Tarnam Naz and Abdur Rauf performed as judges at the competition.
Speaking on the occasion, Lahore Arts Council Executive Director Aslam Dogar said that the emergence of new talent in the “Singing Competition” is a sign that young generation is dedicated to music, saying that great artistes have born from this platform.
“Al-Hamra is a leading institution in the field of art and has always acted as catalyst to explore new talent”, Mr Dogar pointed out and added that “Singing Competition” is a living example of this tradition.
All the young singers registered to participate in the singing competition, were auditioned and 16 artistes of them were selected.
