CEO Pepsi Cola for Pakistan and Afghanistan Furqan Ahmad Syed and a delegation led by CEO Huawei Pakistan Saif Chi called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at his office on Thursday.
Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Lahore will be made a smart city by 2025 and added that provision of basic training about artificial intelligence to high officials and IT experts is being pondered over. Digital monitoring through Safe City Authority has helped in overcoming the crime rate and this digital monitoring would also be started in major cities of the province in phases.
He welcomed the technical assistance of Huawei in the establishment of Safe City Authority and hoped that it would also extend cooperation in the digitalization of Punjab in future as well. He directed the high officials to deal Huawei related matters with mutual understanding. The CEO Huawei assured the Chief Minister to launch a new project in Punjab and said that we are real brothers at people-to-people and government-to-government levels. World’s best digital monitoring system is working in Lahore Safe City Authority and Huawei is also introducing Pakistan’s IT talent to the whole world.
Talking with CEO PEPSI on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Punjab government has provided a conducive atmosphere for investment and added that five special economic zones are being set up where local and foreign investors will be provided best facilities under one roof. He said that revolutionary steps have been taken to facilitate the business community and the investment process has been made simple.
Increase in investment will create more job opportunities along with the strengthening of the national economy, he added. Furqan Ahmad Syed apprised the Chief Minister about the investment of his company in Pakistan and especially in the Punjab province.
