Govt to continue promote art, culture in country: Shahera

A musical programme titled “Aahang-e-Sufiana” was held at the National Broadcasting House, Islamabad this evening.

Renowned Singer Sanam Marvi sung various songs, including Sufi Kalam, enthralling the audience with her melodious voice.

A large number of people, including Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ms. Shahera Shahid, Director General Radio Pakistan Ms. Ambreen Jan, Directors of Finance, Engineering and Programs of PBC, and staff of the organization enjoyed the music.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Information and Broadcasting Shahera Shahid said the government will continue to support the artists and promote art and culture in the country. She said it is our duty to give due recognition and appreciation to artists of the country so that they could fully demonstrate their capabilities.

Earlier, in her opening remarks, DG Radio Pakistan Ambreen Jan said music has a strong impact on behavior of people belonging to all walks of life. She said Radio Pakistan has always encouraged voices and talent from all segments of the society. The DG said Radio Pakistan is the premier organization in introducing leading voices in the sphere of music in Pakistan.
