Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said that why PDM is worried about the open ballot in Senate elections? Open ballot elections will be beneficial for the opposition. Those who want early elections should wait until 2023.
In a statement issued from Governor’s House here on Friday, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said that transparent Senate elections would further strengthen democracy and parliament. He further said that the Prime Minister Imran Khan has promised the nation that he will eradicate corruption and history has shown that Prime Minister Imran Khan is man of principles. No society can make progress without transparency and the elimination of corruption, he added
Chaudhry Sarwar said that the government wants to strengthen the country while the opposition wants to destabilize it. The government’s agenda is to strengthen the common man and provide relief in all fields. He stressed that the opposition should put national interests ahead of political and personal interests. He underlined the need to respect state institutions and said that the nation will not forgive those who criticize national institutions, adding he said that people stand united with all institutions, including government and democracy, he added.
The Punjab governor strongly condemned the terrorist attack in South Waziristan and said that terrorist countries are enemies of development, prosperity, peace and stability. He said that 22 crore Pakistanis stand with our armed forces in the war against terrorism. Pakistan will completely eradicate terrorism and its facilitators and will become the cradle of peace. Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar paid homage to the soldiers who were martyred in the encounter with terrorists. He further said that the entire nation shares the grief of the bereaved families. We salute our martyrs and their blood will not go in vain, he added.
Meanwhile, Punjab Minister HR&MA Ijaz Alam Augustine paid tribute to soldiers of Pak Army who embraced martyrdom in firing incident at South Waziristan by unknown terrorists. The minister said that entire nation was breathing in the air of freedom due to sacrifices of martyrs and entire nation proud over the brave Army of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Revenue Col (r) Malik Muhammad Anwar, while paying rich tributes to the soldiers of the security forces who embraced martyrdom in South Waziristan, said that Pakistan Army is constantly fighting against the enemies for foiling their nefarious designs. He further maintained that the sacrifices rendered by the brave son of the soil will never go waste as they are our real heroes.
