Punjab Govt taking steps to maintain prices: Farooq

Provision of cheaper and standard essential commodities to the people is top priority of the Punjab government led by the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdaar and government has overcome artificial dearness significantly in the province to adopt result-oriented policy.

These views were expressed by the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs, Malik Umer Farooq while addressing a meeting held at District Complex Hafizabad, today. The prices of food items in the market, demand and supply and different steps for provision of relief to the people were reviewed in the meeting.
SACM said that the Punjab government was taking concrete measures to ensure maintain prices of daily used items and provision of essential commodities to the masses during holy month of Ramadan on reasonable rates.

He said that District Administration Hafizabad was taken ideal measure according to the policy of the government for giving relief to the people and expressed his hope that District Administration would continue implementation on government policies in letter and spirit.
While giving briefing to the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister, the Deputy Commissioner Naveed Shahzad Mirza informed that price list issued by the District Price Control Committee was pasted at prominent places at the market and shops and quality and prices of the food items were being inspected on daily basis while incase of any violation, strict action was being taken. He told that there was no shortage of wheat flour in the district while special sale points were set up with collaboration of Food Department and Flour Mills Association.

Reprehensive of Anjum-e-Tajran were assured in the meeting that business community would maintain tradition of cooperation with the government for establishing Ramazan Bazaars in the district to provide food items on cheaper prices.
