A solidarity rally was organized by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation(KMC) on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.
Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah, Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed, Kashmiri leader Sardar Nazakat Ali, Metropolitan Commissioner Afzal Zaidi and many other dignitaries of the city attended the event.
Addressing the rally, Nasir Hussain Shah said the functionPakistanis share the plight of Kashmiris without any political, linguistic discrimination. “We will continue to raise our voice for the legal rights of Kashmiris. On Kashmir Solidarity Day, there should be only one message from Pakistanis in the world that a fair referendum should be held in Kashmir.”
He said that all Pakistanis are on one page to support the Kashmiris’ struggle for independence and their right to self-determination at all levels, adding Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had termed Kashmir as the lifeblood of Pakistan.
Administrator Laiq Ahmed in his speech said that Pakistani nation is playing a moral, political and diplomatic role for the independence and sovereignty of Kashmir as per the decree of the Father of the Nation.
Kashmiri leader Sardar Nazakat Ali asserted that Pakistanis have never accepted the partition of Kashmir. He said the people of Pakistan have made sacrifices for the Kashmir independence movement, the biggest part of which is the people of Sindh. The rally was attended by a large number of Kashmiris and citizens, including Metropolitan Commissioner Afzal Zaidi.
