Sindh Minister for Information & Archives and Labour Saeed Ghani has said that Karachi cleanup campaign had started to improve for the past three days. Provincial Minister of Information said the backlog of the garbage was quite high, but after month of cleanliness campaign, better results would start to appear.
He said this while talking to journalists on Tuesday. Saeed Ghani said that strict action would be taken against those who throw stones, blocks or sacks in the sewerage lines. The provincial minister announced on the occasion that anyone who sent us clips showing someone throwing stones, blocks or sacks in the sewerage lines would be given a reward of Rs 1 lakh. He also provided WhatsApp numbers for sending such clips which were 03000074296 & 03000084296.
Saeed Ghani said that currently we were working to transport the garbage to the landfill sites, then the issues of Chinese company and Solid Waste Management Board would also be resolve. He said that those who threw garbage on the roads and streets would have to be discouraged. Meanwhile, the provincial Minister for Information and Labor visited Baldia Town on Tuesday and reviewed the ongoing cleanup campaign in various union councils in District West.
Speaking on the occasion, Saeed Ghani said that one of the purposes of the cleanliness campaign was to dispose of garbage, while on the other hand, it was aimed at raising awareness among the people to throw their wasted materials in the placed dustbins instead of throwing it on roads and streets. He visited various streets of the vicinity himself to inspect the sewage problem on the complaint of the residents of the area, and on this occasion, he also summoned Xen and issued instructions for immediate resolution of the sewage problem.
