The Hamdard University will celebrate the commemorative week of its Founder-Chancellor Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said’s 101st Birth Anniversary. Hakim Sahib founded this University in 1991– the biggest in the private sector, having its campuses in Karachi and Islamabad, crowned with the honour of producing Graduates, Post-Graduates, M. Phils and Ph. Ds in fields which are vitally important to the nation’s development. The statement issued said, “It is very difficult to recount his laurels as he has served this country in enormous ways. He is remembered for his contributions to the progress of higher education, healthcare and social welfare in Pakistan.” Hamdard University is not only a continuation of the aspirations of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, but a reaffirmation of his belief that even one individual with dedication can make a world of difference for his nation. In today’s uncertain and challenging times, we shall endeavour to serve Hakim Sahib’s vision and reinforce our efforts to achieve the goals he has set for us. “This time is indeed an opportunity to draw lessons from his admirable life in two specific areas: service to mankind and promotion of education. In this noble cause, my dear readers, I count you as a stakeholder and supporter to the mission Hakim Sahib initiated for the prosperity of our citizens.”
