NAVTTC starts various projects for empowering youth through skill-training

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs Muhammad Usman Dar on Tuesday visited the National Vocational And Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) headquarters and reiterated Prime Minister Imran Khan’s commitment of empowering youth through creating more jobs and promoting culture of entrepreneurship.
Empowering youth through skillful training is a stated vision of Prime Minister and this can be realized by NAVTTC’s proactive approach and programmes on large scale, he said.
Earlier upon his arrival, Dar was received by Chairman NAVTTC, Syed Javed Hassan and Executive Director, Dr Faheem Muhammad.
They gave a detailed presentation to Special Assistant about the progress of various components of ongoing Hunarmand Pakistan (Skill for All) Programme under the umbrella of Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan initiative.
Dar viewed “This is the largest skill development programme in the history of the country launched with the objective to impart high technology trainings like artificial intelligence, robotics and many others to the youth”, Dar said.
“Investing in our youth in terms of capacity building for the matching jobs market is our prime objective”, he added. He appreciated the NAVTTC’s achievements in recognition of prior learning (RPL) and apprenticeship programs. SAPM while acknowledging the funding issues ensured that his full support for timely provision of funds for achievement of the targets.
“NAVTTC’s initiatives under the umbrella of Prime Minister’s Hunarmand Pakistan Programme would not only change the TVET landscape in Pakistan by bringing it at par with international standards but further enhance the employability of our youth in the international market thus increasing the image of Pakistani skilled workers worldwide and giving huge boost in foreign remittances”, Dr. Faheem added.
Dar showed satisfaction on the pace of the implementation of various components of the programme and asked to achieve the set targets with in stipulated time and to ensure quality in implementing the whole programme.
Chairman NAVTTC thanked the Special Assistant for ensuring full support in implementing the TVET reform agenda of NAVTTC under the umbrella of Prime Minister’s Hunarmand Programme.
