Abbasi says its Imran’s delusion that the army is with him

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice president and former prime minister ShahidKhaqanAbbasi has said that the right to issue NRO belongs to the dictator and not to the prime minister. “I do not want NRO. If the Prime Minister starts saying that the army is with me, then it is clear that his days are numbered.” He expressed these views while addressing a press conference here at PML-N House on Monday. PML-N Sindh President Syed Shah Mohammad Shah, General Secretary DrMuftah Ismail, Khawaja Tariq Nazir and Khalid Sheikh were also present. Abbasi said both the selectors and the selectors are panicked by the PDM movement, adding, “We are not accused of corruption. We are accused of misuse of power.” He said the biggest challenge to the PML-N government was the energy crisis. In our time, the price of gas did not increase by a single rupee. We ensured cheap electricity and gas supply, installed the cheapest plants in Pakistan and added extra gas to the system. “Pakistan’s energy crisis can only be solved with surplus gas, two and a half years after the government is still in power crisis in the country, despite increase in gas prices today gas is not available, government ministers are unable to explain why the price of gas has gone up.” He viewed that there was lack of planning, there was corruption; oil can be stolen. Gas cannot be stolen. Power plants are being run again on fuel oil because of corruption. He said that in 2018 the cabinet decided that electricity would not be generated from furnace oil and diesel. Even today the government is generating electricity from furnace oil and diesel. In our time, there was no circular debt for gas. Despite doubling the price of gas, there is 1000 billion circular debt, while in the power sector, the circular debt has increased by Rs 60 billion per month. “The energy crisis in Pakistan can only be solved with LNG. We have installed two terminals. The government has not installed a terminal for two and a half years.”
