Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday declared that she has been assigned the responsibility to play on fast pitch of Lahore and take wickets.
Firdous said she has been devolved the responsibility of playing on fast pitch of Lahore and taking wickets. She will assist Punjab government at the media front. Regarding local bodies elections, she said local bodies election will be held in the province after legal complications are removed. She went on to say Wasim Akram plus performance is good but someone else has to be on the end of wicket. The responsibility to take along the media has been assigned to me, she added.
She remarked: “There remained one man show in Punjab in the past. Shahbaz Sharif had held all the powers with him. Now Usman Buzdar is transferring the powers to the ministers. He has directed the ministers to deliver.” She claimed. She said there are big mafias sitting in Punjab and they have a network due to which they create crisis. The crisis arises when a gap between demand and supply comes. The sugar and atta crisis emerged due to this reason.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to CM on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had called PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the request of Prime Minister Imran Khan. “It was necessary to handle the crisis in Sindh,” Awan said while addressing a press conference here on Thursday. “After the call, you saw that the army proved that it is a disciplined and organized institution and there is a system of accountability,” she pointed out.
On October 20, the PPP chairperson had asked the army chief to investigate the alleged abduction of Sindh Police chief in Karachi prior to the arrest of PML-N leader Capt (retd) Safdar Awan from his hotel room.
On November 10, the ISPR said in a statement that the military’s court of inquiry has removed Rangers and ISI officials from their posts in Karachi and a further inquiry against them will be held at GHQ.It had noted that they acted “overzealously” by arresting Capt (r) Safdar.
CALLS FOR PRECAUTION DURING SMOG
Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Ejaz Alam Augustine has appealed to the public to be more vigilant during the smog season, saying the second wave of corona virus could be more dangerous. He said that citizens should not leave their homes unnecessarily and ensure the use of masks, avoid all such activities which are conducive to polluting the environment.
Ejaz Alam further appealed to the people to reduce the use of vehicles during the smog season and try to use two or more persons together as the smog is strengthened by the toxic fumes of the vehicles. In the second wave, precautionary measures need to be taken.
The provincial human rights minister said that the Punjab government was using all its resources to deal with Corona, but the people needed full cooperation. Smart Lockdown has started and in case of worsening of the situation more such steps can be taken as the first responsibility is to ensure the safety of lives and property of the people.
The legitimate demands of the blind people must be met but they must not be allowed to become tools of any NGO or political element and the minister said, directing the finance department and the planning and development board to clarify the application of the ban on recruitment in government agencies in terms of the nature of recruitment.
