The PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz was forced to reschedule her election campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan because of the closure of Skardu-Gilgit Road, as she left for Islamabad on Saturday afternoon in a PIA plane. However, Maryam will again leave for the region tomorrow morning (Sunday) by boarding the flight for Gilgit and stay there till August 12 where she has planned to continue campaigning aggressively in different areas.
Earlier, the PML-N announced the decision through its official Twitter account. On Friday, Maryam addressed a large rally in Skardu where she said neither Gilgit-Baltistan nor Pakistan would accept the election results if the PML-N was defeated through the rigging. Maryam said neither rigging nor those involved in rigging and also the product of rigging would survive. They were going to face the people’s wrath, she added.—APP
