A team of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) was attacked and beaten up by unidentified persons during a routine checkup of milk transporters.
According to police, the incident occurred on Hasilpur Road in district Vehari when unidentified assailants attacked the PFA team’s Mobile Testing Van and thrashed female team members of the authority.
It has been reported the attackers also lashed male staffer including the driver of the mobile testing van. Punjab Food Authority spokesperson said the injured staffers were shifted to DHQ Vehari for medical treatment.
The PFA has also lodged an FIR against the aggressors and vowed to continue the public service despite such incidents.
