District police during an action foiled a bid to smuggle non-custom paid foreign goods in the jurisdiction of Shaheed Mureed Akbar (SMA) police station on Monday. A press note released from the office of the District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada underlined that a police party headed by SHO SMA police station Naseeb Ur Rehman and supervised by DSP Headquarters Iqbal Baloch held a surprise check of vehicles at Manjikheil Police Check Post.
During the checking of vehicles, police recovered 4000 KG non-custom paid American quality Almonds from a Truck bearing Registration No MNI/6821, the press release added. Police arrested the driver of the Truck and registered a case of smuggling against him at SMA police Station.
The District Police Officer, Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada has vowed to harden the action against drug peddlers and smugglers to eradicate the curse from the district, the press note mentioned.
