Residents of Islamabad while commending the good work done by the District Health Office and the District Administration of Islamabad during the high incidence days of coronavirus have expressed the wish they would not let them down and win the war against Covid-19 once again.
A number of social media users expressed this wish while supporting the health team of Islamabad and the Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Hamza Shafqat who have been leading the war against coronavirus when the virus infections were all time high in July and August.
Dr Subhan Laghari in a tweet on Friday said “DHO teams are determined to win a fight against covid19 as they won a few months back.”
We again need your support and precautions. Individually, nothing is possible until we follow SOPs as one nation. Do cooperate e our teams, follow guidelines, it’s still lethal ND here” he said.
Meanwhile, the District Health Office (DHO) of Islamabad on Friday recommended closure of the Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB) G-10/4 after a number of coronavirus cases were reported there.
According to a notification issued by the District Health Officer Dr Zaeem Zia two cases of Covid-19 were reported in the college and it has been decided to immediately close down the campus for an indefinite period. The DHO has also directed a thorough disinfection of the building as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of National Health Service Regulation & Coordination (NHSRC).
Through the letter, the DHO has also directed a Covid-19 testing of the staff/students exposed and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Covid-19.
“All the close contacts of the two cases must be quarantined for a period of 14 days,’’ the letter further says. With closure of IMCB G-10/4 total number of educational institutions sealed has reached 34.
The federal capital meanwhile reported 100 cases during the last 24 hours, 54 male and 46 female.
