The PML-N has geared up for holding the first political power show of the anti-government movement in Gujranwala on October 16. In this connection, at Jati Umrah, the party Vice President Maryam Nawaz met with senior leaders of the party. She assigned important tasks to the members of the Assembly and leaders. Strategies were worked out to avoid possible arrests, while all members of the assembly were instructed to bring in workers large numbers. According to party sources, Party leader Nawaz Sharif was also informed of the decisions taken during the meeting.
It will be the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) first political power show in Gujranwala on Oct 16 and host of the rally has started mobilizing political workers to make the N-League show a success. Maryam Nawaz had an important meeting with Ahsan Iqbal, former Sindh Governor M Zubair, Pervez Rashid, Rana Sanaullah and Maryam Aurangzeb.
According to sources, in order to make the meeting a success, Maryam Nawaz directed the leaders and parliamentarians to bring workers from Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Muridke, Wazirabad, Kharian, Gujarat and Lahore. PML-N’s Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Javed Latif, Rana Tanveer, Peer Ashraf Rasool, Mian Rauf and Abid Kotla were given the task of bringing 50,000 workers from their respective constituencies.
Maryam Nawaz also discussed possible arrests of opposition leaders in a meeting with party leaders. They also discussed the PDM’s strategy in case of arrests. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent statements were also considered during the meeting.
