A man murdered four caretakers including a woman at a shrine located in Jeewan Pura area of Bhikki in Sheikhupura district here on Wednesday.
According to police sources, having been infuriated over a row, the accused hammered the four persons to death and threw their dead bodies into a nearby canal. Some passersby spotted the dead bodies and informed Rescue-1122. Rescuers rushed to the site and recovered the bodies from the canal.
The rescuers handed over the bodies to police, which shifted it to hospital for autopsy. The Sheikhupura District Police Officer (DPO) has established a team to investigate the incident. The alleged killer has been arrested. The deceased were identified as 70-year-old Baba Nishan; 60-year-old Baba Heera; 45-year-old Sain Akhtar and 45-year-old Mai Sahiba.
The police have started investigation into the murder case.
