Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar on Friday said that those who call Parliament as a rubber stump are in fact humiliating democracy and public vote.
“The government is strengthening Parliament and democracy in Pakistan.” Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar expressed the views during separate meetings with Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Mian Anjum Nisar and party delegations.
The Punjab governor said the country is o faced economic problems mainly due to corruption by corrupt elements. According to details, Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Mian Anjum Nisar along with other delegations called on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar at Governor House here on Friday. In the meeting political and economic issues were discussed in detail.
Talking during the meeting, the Punjab Governor said that the leadership of the opposition parties is criticizing the party to which they are a part but they cannot fool the nation through such tactics and criticism.
They should not only criticize and play their positive and democratic role. It is also the responsibility of the opposition to play a role in strengthening democracy and the Parliament.
He said that the purpose of the legislation passed in the Parliament was not to take political revenge against anyone but the legislation was passed only in the interest of the nation. The opposition also needs not to put obstacles in the way of legislation they should take part in it instead.
Governor Punjab said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is providing full relief and facilities to domestic and foreign investors as well as Pakistani business community due to which investment in Pakistan is steadily increasing.
He said that Pakistan is getting stronger economically but the enemies of Pakistan unfortunately are not digesting the development of the county but we will not allow them to succeed in their destructive and impure purposes.
Furthermore, the Governor said that it is a great achievement of Pakistan that the World Bank Arbitration Forum Oxide has issued an injunction on the six billion dollars award to Pakistan on the issue of Rekodak. He said we are determined that Pakistan will move forward with the same success on every front and will achieve its true place in the world.
