Hazara Police has launched “Raabta”, a community engagement program in the region to solve community problems, help crime control, and bridges the gap between community and police. This was formally launched by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Hazara Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman through a circular issued to all District Police Officers in Hazara the region here on Tuesday.
RPO Hazara in his detailed letter to all DPOs & copy to Inspector General Police KPK stated that community engagement is the essence of modern policing as it breaks down the barriers of apathy & destruction between police and community.
“Reinvigorating general public and different segments of society help police to achieve its primary objectives; crime prevention, detection & maintenance of law & order” adding that in order to understand the public issues and concerns, there is the dire need to go back to the public and ask them about their issues and to make all-out efforts to address these issues, he added. Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman directed DPOs, SDPOs & SHOs to follow the action plan according to which they have to adopt a structured program & will hold public meetings accordingly.
