The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has appreciated the United Nations Special Rappoteur on Human Rights and Human Rights Watch for raising concerns over the worsening rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the DFP Acting Chairman, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad, today, said that the concern voiced by the world bodies exposed Indian government’s false narrative of normalcy in the territory besides highlighting the growing realization of the international community about the dire situation in the region.
He said that Kashmir continued to be the world’s most heavily militarized zone where over a half million Indian troops had wreaked havoc on the lives of Kashmiri people, engaged in a legitimate struggle guaranteed to them by the international community.
Mehmood Ahmed Saghar said that innocent people particularly the youth were being killed on a daily basis by trigger-happy Indian forces, operating with impunity in the territory.—KMS
