9th Muharram passes amid tight security 8,000 cops guard procession in a four layer security with aerial surveillance

The procession of Zuljinnah, the symbol of Muharramul Haram, ended peacefully after passing through traditional route. The main procession of Muharram 9th started from Pando Street, Islampura and ended at the same point after passing through Neeli Bar Chowk, Civil Secretariat, Old Anarkali and Khema.
The mourners offered Zuhrain prayers at Siraj building. Fool-proof security arrangements were made for the procession in the city while aerial surveillance was carried out.
As many as 8,000 policemen were deployed for the security of Majalis and processions in the provincial metropolis.
Cellular phone service was suspended on Saturday in the city to security of the processions.
This is the story of Karbala. The Chief Minister was informed that CCTV coverage, dashboard and media were provided in the Central Control Room.
Special arrangements have been made for monitoring. Digital monitoring of 37,562 gatherings and 9,717 processions is being carried out across the province.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Meetings and processions held across Punjab have been geotagged.
3 TEMPORARY HOSPITALS SET UP ON PROCESSION ROUTE
The Chief Minister said that Pakistan Army and Rangers have been called in to assist in the security arrangements while the gatherings and processions will be monitored by CCTV cameras.
Usman Bazdar directed that a peaceful atmosphere should be ensured at all costs, route and timing of processions should be ensured and members of peace committees should play an active role in promoting religious harmony.
Usman Bazdar said that there would be no compromise on the publication and distribution of objectionable material, non-discriminatory action should be taken against the violators.

It may be recalled that SP City Taswar Iqbal issued instructions to the officers on security duty on 09 Muharram to remain alert. Police officers instructed procession organizers to ensure adherence to government orders and code of conduct.
