Pakistani American Community and Coalition of many Pakistani American Organizations celebrated the historic Pakistan Independence Cultural Caravan Day in the heart of Little Pakistan, Brooklyn, New York.
Despite covid 19 pandemic,passion for Pakistan day celebrations took american pakistanis to the streets of New York to celebrated and renew their pledge to work for the betterment of motherland while working here in the United States .
Pakistanis gathered at Coney Island Brooklyn New York wearing green dresses and holding national flags in an impressvie flag hoisting ceremony attended by local authorities and congresswoman Yvette Clarke . Pakistani American Association of New York (PAANY ) organized this event with the collaberation of other pakistani organizations .
Pakistan’s Consul General Ayesha Ali hoisted national flag while the New York City Police Chief, Terence Monahan, hoisted the American flag amid “Pakistan Zinda Bad” slogans. A float displaying Quaid’s photos and with Pakistan flag carrying men , women children aboard drove through the the avenue with cheers all around .
The President of PAANY, Chaudhry Aslam Dhillon thanked Consul General Ayesha Ali n U.S. Congresswoman Yvette Clarke ,Brooklyn district Attorney Eric Conzalez as well as other distinguished guests for their participation in the Independence Day celebration. The President of Pakistani American Law Enforcement Society (PALS), Jahangir Ashraf, welcomed Pakistanis to the flag-hoisting ceremony and said this is the opportunity to honour their motherland.
Consul General Ayesha Ali congratulated Pakistani-Americans and appreciated their enthusiasm and patriotism and updated the gathering on the developments in the illegally Indian Occupied Kashmir.
