The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) marked Independence Day with full zeal and zest.
In this regard, LWMC organized a cake cutting ceremony at LWMC Head Office. Members Punjab Assembly, Local political leadership of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Chairman PHA, Vice Chairman WASA, MD LWMC, GM Operations, Head of Communication Department, Turkish Contractors along with officials and sanitary workers attended the event. All participants of the event were carrying Pakistani flags. Furthermore, LWMC holds a Flag March of operational vehicles and workers in order to raise awareness among public regarding maintaining cleanliness during Independence Day celebrations. Flag march started from LWMC head office which was led by MD LWMC and other officials. Flag march was comprised of LWMC machinery.
Flag march passed through Mall Road, Data Darbar, Azadi Flyover, Bhatti gate and ended at Chairing Cross.
On the occasion, MD LWMC stated that sanitary workers are assets of LWMC and their efforts to make the city clean are highly commendable. LWMC zero waste operation is continue in the city in light of Independence Day, he added.
He further appealed to the citizens to take care of the sanity of the flag. Spokesperson LWMC said that citizens should also cooperate with LWMC to maintain cleanliness in the city on the occasion of the Independence Day.
