145th anniversary of UPU celebrated

Hand in hand with Universal Postal Union (UPU), Pakistan Post traditionally celebrates the World Post Day every year on October 9, with a new resolve to provide postal services, financial services, customized e-services, logistics services to the customers meeting the demands of the technology driven competitive environment.
Pakistan Post celebrated the 145th anniversary of the founding of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) to further strengthen the mission and goals of the Universal Postal Union. The UPU flag was hoisted by the Director General Muhammad Akhlaque Rana in a simple but impressive ceremony which was organized in the Directorate General Islamabad. Postal Officers and staff participated in the ceremony.
The message of Mr. Bishar A. Hussein, the Director General of the Universal Postal Union was read out by Mr. Arshad Ali Khan, Additional Director General (Operations) on this occasion. The ceremony was closed after prayers for development of the Post and Pakistan. Similar UPU flag hoisting ceremonies were also held in all postal Circles, Regions and Unit Offices all over the country.—PR
