ISLAMABAD – Pakistani security forces gunned down at least 10 terrorists linked with Indian proxy Fitna al-Hindustan during major operation in Khuzdar district of Balochistan, security sources said on Saturday.
According to the sources, the operation was launched in the Shor Parod mountainous range after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants linked to the group.
An intense exchange of fire followed as security forces moved to target the suspected hideouts. At least 10 terrorists were killed, while several others were reportedly wounded during the operation. Security sources said the forces remain determined to continue counterterrorism operations until the threat of terrorism is completely eliminated from the country.
The operation comes just three days after another major incident in Surab district, where at least eight terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan were killed when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) exploded prematurely while it was allegedly being prepared.
Forces also found movement of militants attempting to flee the area and killed 10 more terrorists. The latest developments come amid continued militant activity in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which have remained Pakistan’s primary security hotspots in recent years.
