LAKKI MARWAT – At least ten people were injured after a vehicle belonging to a private cement factory was targeted in an improvised explosive device blast in Lakki Marwat on Monday.
Police said the vehicle was travelling from Begu Khel to Lakki Marwat when it came under the attack. All injured persons including women have been shifted to nearby hospital where some of them are said to be critical condition.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident, while local security measures have been increased to prevent further attacks. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation, and authorities are working to gather more information to identify the perpetrators.
Civil Hospital’s medical superintendant has confirmed receiving 10 injured persons, stating that an emergency has been declared at the hospital.

The country saw a 34% increase in terrorist attacks and a 21% rise in deaths linked to terrorism compared to the previous year. A total of 699 terrorist incidents were reported across the nation, according to Pakistan Security Report 2025 published by the Pak Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS).
The violence resulted in at least 1,034 deaths and left 1,366 people injured, highlighting an upward trend in militancy that has continued since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in 2021.
