Zimbabwe won the one-over eliminator against Pakistan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
However, Pakistan have already won the three-match ODI series two up, defeating Zimbabwe in the first two matches – by 26 runs in the first and by six wickets in the second ODI, both at the same venue.
Chasing a big total of 279, Pakistan were well on the way to victory after a disastrous start with losing both the openers for only six runs on the board.
But it was Babar Azam, who leading from the front, steered Pakistan to very close to the victory but pace bowler Blessing Muzarabani turned the tables in the penultimate over by dismissing tail-ender Shaheen Afridi and ton-up Babar when the Green Shirts were just 13 runs away to reach the target.
