The caretaker government of Sindh has made the decision to replace the chairmen of three education boards in the province, which include the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), the Sindh Technical Board, and the Larkana Board. Besides the removal of chairmen, strict directives have been issued for the dismissal of several top officials, including secretaries and controller examinations from various boards like BIEK, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, and Larkana. In addition, audit officers from Larkana, Sukkur, Nawabshah, and the Board of Secondary Education Karachi have also been relieved of their positions.

Dr Prof Naseem Memon (Former BIEK Chairman) has been appointed as the head of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Larkana (BISEL) until June 30, 2024. Furthermore, the interim controller of examination of BIEK, Zaheeruddin Bhutto, and Secretary BIEK, Kashif Siddiqui, have been removed from their roles. Zahid Lakho, the audit officer at BIEK, lost his additional responsibility as the board’s secretary.

Nadeem Soomro has been instructed to report to the Human Settlement and Social Housing Department after being sacked as the Controller of Examination of BISEL. Other officials removed from their positions include Syed Aqash Shah, BISEL’s acting secretary, Shaukat Khanzada, Secretary of Hyderabad board, Zahiruddin Sheikh, the audit officer of the Hyderabad board, Ghulam Mustafa, BISEL’s audit officer, Mohammad Salman, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sukkur (BISES) Secretary, Dr Abdul Fateh Mehr, BISES Controller Examination, and Ghulam Qadir Dharijo, the audit officer of BISES. The interim provincial government has sought permission from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to make new appointments to fill the vacant posts, emphasizing the need for permanent appointments to enhance the functionality of the education boards in the province. Sikandar Ali Miraj will return to his original position as Inspector of Instruction after being removed as the BISEL chairman. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was informed that various education boards are currently relying on temporary arrangements for top positions.
