Zardari welcomes new envoys to Pakistan, seeks stronger ties with their countries

Envoys-designate of various countries present credentials to President

The envoys-designate of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State of Palestine, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), Uzbekistan, Kenya and the Republic of Turkiye presented their credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari here Monday during a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The president received credentials from Ambassador-designate of Kyrgyz Republic, MrAvazbekAtakhanov, Ambassador-designate of the State of Palestine, DrZuhair Mohammad HamdallahZaid, Ambassador-designate of the North Korea, MrChoe Chang Man, Ambassador-designate of Uzbekistan, MrAlisherTukhtaey, the High Commissioner-designate of Kenya, Lt Gen (R) Peter MbogoNjiru and Ambassador-designate of Turkiye, MrIrfanNeziroglu.

Later, each of the envoys held a separate meeting with President and sought broader and stronger relations of his county with Pakistan.

Welcoming the envoys to Pakistan, the president felicitated them on their appointment and expressed the hope that they would play their role in further improving mutually beneficial bilateral relations with Pakistan, in the areas of trade, economy and culture.

Earlier, the envoys were presented with a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan Armed Forces upon their arrival at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
