The Multan-bound Zakaria Express on Thursday narrowly escaped a major accident.
According to Pakistan Railways sources, bogies of passenger train Zakaria Express derailed near Karachi City Station.
The authorities had to stop the train and dispatched rescue teams immediately to the scene. Luckily no loss of life occurred during the incident.
The railways authorities have launched further investigations to ascertain reasons behind the incident. A couple of weeks ago, a freight train met an accident due to a technical fault that resulted in major oil spillage in Nawabshah.
In June this year, a train collision took place on a dilapidated railway track in Ghotki, a district in Sindh province, when an express train barreled into another that had derailed minutes earlier. The accident had claimed 65 people.
